Speed Post Service Overhaul: The Department of Posts will introduce revised Speed Post rates and new features to enhance customer experience, starting October 1. These changes aim to provide faster, safer, and more convenient services.

New Speed Post Rates

The revised rates for Speed Post services are as follows:

Local Speed Post Rates

- Up to 50 grams: Rs 19

- 51-250 grams: Rs 24

- 251-500 grams: Rs 28

Rates for Distances Up to 200 km

- Up to 50 grams: Rs 47

- 51-250 grams: Rs 59

- 251-500 grams: Rs 70

Speed Service Rates For Longer Distances

- 201-500 km: Rs 47 (up to 50g), Rs 63 (51-250g), Rs 75 (251-500g)

- 501-1000 km: Rs 47 (up to 50g), Rs 68 (51-250g), Rs 82 (251-500g)

- Above 2000 km: Rs 47 (up to 50g), Rs 77 (51-250g), Rs 93 (251-500g)

India Post Overhauls Speed Post Service: New Features

The Department of Posts has introduced several new features to enhance customer experience, including:

- OTP-Based Delivery: Ensures secure delivery with OTP verification, available for an additional Rs 5 per item plus applicable GST.

- Real-Time Tracking: Allows customers to track their parcels in real-time.

- Online Booking: Enables customers to book Speed Post services online with online payment options.

- SMS-Based Delivery Notifications: Provides timely updates on parcel delivery status.

- Registration Facility: Offers secure delivery of documents and parcels to the addressee, available for an additional Rs 5 per item plus applicable GST.

Check Who Will Get Discounts On Speed Post Services

The Department of Posts is offering discounts to certain customer groups, including:

- Student Discount: 10 per cent discount on Speed Post tariffs for students.

- Bulk Customer Discount: 5 per cent discount for new bulk customers.

Revised Aadhaar Service Charges

The Department of Posts has also revised charges for Aadhaar services, including:

- Biometric Update: Rs 125

- Document Update: Rs 75
