The investigation into Malkhan, the accused arrested from Bakhtauri Kheda village in Nigohan for carrying out religious conversions, has revealed that his network was spread across more than four neighbouring districts. He reportedly used to visit these districts one day a week.

Police have found the numbers of people connected to these areas on his mobile phone and are now gathering evidence against two more individuals for potential arrest. Additionally, investigators are scrutinizing more than 20 bank accounts as part of the probe.

According to police, Malkhan would travel to Raebareli, Unnao, Barabanki, Sitapur and other districts on different days of the week, a claim substantiated by the call records on his phone. These numbers are now being traced to determine how the individuals he spoke with were involved in carrying out conversions. If concrete evidence is found, local police in those districts will be contacted to make arrests. The investigation has also revealed that money was sent to numbers provided by these contacts.

During the probe, police discovered that Malkhan operates two accounts in different banks. The details of more than 20 accounts that received money from his accounts have been examined. Furthermore, following allegations from villagers, the revenue team will measure the land on which a prayer hall is located. A letter for this purpose has been sent to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Mohanlalganj, as the land is suspected to be illegally registered as barren (banjar) land.
