The Congress Party has attributed their loss in the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi to their INDIA bloc ally, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). The AAP-Congress alliance lost all seven seats in Delhi in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls. Speaking to the news agency ANI, Congress leader Abhishek Dutt said the probe in the Delhi Excise Case was not conducted when they brought up the matter but Kejriwal was arrested just a month before the polls.
"When we (Congress) exposed the excise scam, we demanded the then government to conduct a proper investigation. ED and CBI didn't take any action, even after 18 months of filing the case. But, just 1 month before the Lok Sabha polls, they arrested Arvind Kejriwal," he said.

Dutt said Congress’ seats would have increased had they not fought the election in alliance with AAP as the Delhi Liquor ‘Scam’ attracted repercussions. “I believe if we had not contested the elections with them, then Congress' seats would have increased in the elections. Because of the Excise scam, the Congress suffered a loss in the Lok Sabha elections," he said.
"Satyendar Kumar Jain is in jail because of his involvement in the scam. Manish Sisodia is in jail and because of all of them Congress has suffered the loss," Dutt said.
On the Delhi water crisis and Atishi’s hunger strike, Congress leader Abhishek Dutt said the Delhi Minister was doing drama and it was her responsibility to provide water to the people in the national capital. "Atishi is doing drama by sitting on Dharna and because of that AAP is suffering from loss. The minister's job is to provide full facilities to the public. There is no water in Delhi and they are doing dharna," he added.

This is not the first instance when the Congress has rebuked AAP despite contesting the Lok Sabha election in an alliance with the latter. Earlier, Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav criticised the AAP for the waterlogging in several parts of the city caused by heavy rain.
