An Air India Express flight bound for Jammu from Delhi returned to the national capital without landing on Monday afternoon, sparking concerns among passengers. The aircraft, which was scheduled to land in Jammu around noon before continuing to Srinagar, hovered over the Jammu airport for a while before the pilot decided to head back to Delhi, officials said.

"The reason for the return was not immediately known," the officials added. Although weather and runway conditions were reportedly clear, it appears the pilot was unable to locate the appropriate landing path.

The flight, numbered IX-2564, was part of the Delhi-Jammu-Srinagar route. Aviation authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the turnaround. No official statement has been released yet by Air India Express.

A separate Air India Express flight from Jaipur to Dubai also faced disruption. Just before takeoff, flight IX-195 developed a technical issue and had to return from the taxi bay on the runway. The aircraft was carrying 130 passengers and was scheduled to depart around 6:05 AM, according to an NDTV report.

Engineers were immediately called to inspect the problem, and the plane remains grounded until repairs are completed.

The suspected bird strike was detected once the incoming flight from Delhi had safely landed in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. As a precaution, the return flight to Delhi was cancelled and the aircraft was grounded for detailed safety checks.
