Amethi Teacher Killing:  The key suspect in the Amethi family murder case had allegedly put up a status declaring that 'five people would be killed', days before unidentified assailants shot dead government school teacher Sunil Kumar, his wife and two daughters - six and one-year-old, respectively. The cold-blooded shooting has shocked the entire state, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath promising strict action against the accused individuals.

According to a Dainik Jagran report, the key suspect, Chandan Verma, against whom the teacher and his wife lodged a police complaint two months ago, had updated his WhatsApp status where he had hinted at a possible execution of the crime.

"5 People are going to die, I will show you soon," Verma's WhatsApp status reportedly read. A screenshot of his WhatsApp contact details has now gone viral.

On Thursday, unidentified gunmen barged into the house of government school teacher Sunil Kumar in Shivratanganj town and shot him dead along with his wife, Poonam Bharti and two young daughters, Srishti and Lado. The shooters shot seven rounds of bullets, hitting Sunil with three, Bharti with two, and Minor had one gunshot wound each.

Police Arrests One; Key Accused At Large

Amethi police have so far arrested one person in connection with the murder. Deepak Soni, a resident of Ahorva Bhavani, was picked up by the police. Reportedly, Deepak, who runs a mobile shop in the town, was in touch with the key accused Chandan Verma.

Amethi MP KL Sharma Visits Family

The shocking crime also amped up the political temperature of the state with Amethi MP and Gandhi family loyalist KL Sharma reaching out to meet the family. He met the father of the deceased teacher and arranged a phone call between him and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.

"Rahul Gandhi was informed about this incident yesterday. Rahul Gandhi asked me to stay with the family. I have been in constant touch with the family since yesterday. Today both Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi have talked to the family over the phone," Sharma said.
