Patna–New Delhi Amrit Bharat Express train is set to be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Bihar on July 18. The new high-speed service will begin regular operations from July 20, offering a faster, more comfortable journey with upgraded onboard facilities.

Running at a top speed of 130 km/h, the Amrit Bharat Express will cover the nearly 1000-kilometre distance between Patna and Delhi in just 10 hours, significantly improving rail connectivity between the two cities.

Patna–New Delhi Amrit Bharat Express Train: Couches And Design

The new Amrit Bharat Express consists of 22 non-AC coaches, painted in a sleek red and grey design. It offers two types of accommodations: sleeper and general class. The sleeper coaches can accommodate 80 passengers with both seating and sleeping arrangements, while each general coach has seating capacity for 100 passengers.

Designed with passenger comfort in mind, all coaches feature several modern amenities. Seats come in a vibrant orange and grey color scheme. In the general coaches, four people can sit on the lower seat, while the sleeper coaches can seat three. Every seat is equipped with a mobile charging point, a mobile holder, and a bottle holder. The overall design focuses on both utility and aesthetics, making travel more convenient for passengers.

Patna–New Delhi Amrit Bharat Express Train: Facilities 

Despite being non-AC, the Amrit Bharat Express boasts several state-of-the-art features, comparable to those found in the Vande Bharat trains. These include a special talkback system to communicate with the loco pilot in case of emergencies, CCTV cameras near the doors and seating areas, digital display boards and speakers for real-time station updates, and high-tech bio-toilets. The entire train is under continuous CCTV surveillance for enhanced safety.

According to Danapur Railway Division’s Senior DCM Abhinav Siddharth, the Amrit Bharat Express will significantly improve connectivity between Patna and Delhi. Built at the Rajendranagar Coaching Complex, the train is ready for regular passenger service following its inauguration.

On the day of launch, the train will depart from Rajendranagar Terminal at 11:45 AM. It will reach New Delhi at 4:00 AM the next day, following scheduled halts at Patna (12:00 PM), Danapur (12:30 PM), Ara (1:15 PM), Buxar (2:10 PM), DDU (3:40 PM), Subedarganj (6:15 PM), Govindpuri (8:40 PM), and Ghaziabad (2:40 AM). The full journey will take approximately 15 hours and 45 minutes.
