Andhra Pradesh News: A Class 6 student in Punganur, Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, has been hospitalised with a skull fracture after an alleged assault by her teacher. The girl, identified as Sathvika Nagasri, was reportedly hit on the head by her Hindi teacher, Saleema Basha, using a school bag containing a steel lunch box after she committed some mischief in school.
According to an India Today report, initially, her mother, who is also a Science teacher in the same school, did not recognise the seriousness of the injury. The child later complained of severe headaches and dizziness. She was taken to different hospitals before being shifted to a private facility in Bengaluru, where a CT scan confirmed the skull fracture.
Case Registered By Police
The family has filed a complaint against both the teacher and the principal. Punganur police have registered a case and started an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh’s Prakasam district, a case of domestic violence has come to light after a man was caught on video brutally assaulting his wife. The man, identified as Gurunatham, was seen tying his wife’s hands before thrashing her with a belt and kicking her, even as she screamed in pain.

Neighbours attempted to intervene but were ignored, with witnesses alleging that he appeared to take cruel satisfaction in the act. The victim, mother of three daughters and a son, works at a local bakery to support her children.
According to locals, Gurunatham lives in Hyderabad with another woman but often returns to the village, where he subjects his wife to harassment and violence. They also claimed he routinely demands the money she earns to run the household. The video of the assault has intensified calls for strict action against him.
