Bengaluru News: Customers wouldn’t be able to spend more than one hour occupying tables for free at an eatery in Bengaluru, as the local restaurant has decided to charge for extra hours. Fed up with long meetings, the restaurant’s quirky rule has sparked an online conversation.
It all began with a social media post where a user, Shobhit Bakliwal, posted an image of a notice stuck to a local restaurant’s wall in Bengaluru. Taking to X, Bakliwal posted the photograph of the notice, writing, ‘saw this notice posted at an eatery in BLR’.
The notice read, “No meetings allowed. Meetings lasting more than 1 hour will be charged at 1000 per hour.” The post has garnered 30 thousand views in a short span, drawing a variety of reactions.

Many users found the step taken in the right direction, questioning the habit of occupying café tables for hours without ordering more. One wrote, “Have seen this in so many eateries and cafes people will sit, chat for hours and not buy any drinks or food.
