Bihar Cabinet Expansion: The Bihar State Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, is set to witness expansion on May 7 at Patna's Gandhi Maidan. Ahead of the major political development, speculations have intensified regarding possible inclusion of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's son Nishant Kumar in the cabinet. The reports suggest that while Kumar initially refused to take any ministerial post; however, he changed his mind after being convinced by the top party leaders.
His potential inclusion in the cabinet is considered crucial for the dynamics within the alliance and the future leadership of JDU. Apart from this, Kumar's 'Sadbhav Yatra' has also been postponed to May 9 due to the oath ceremony, reported Jagran.com, citing sources. As per the sources, a total of 36 members are likely to be included new cabinet.

The reports suggest that several BJP leaders, including former Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Mangal Pandey, Dilip Kumar Jaiswal, Ram Kripal Yadav, and Sanjay Singh Tiger are likely to become ministers under the BJP quota. Apart from this, other leaders such as Shreyasi Singh, Arun Shankar Prasad, Lakhendra Paswan, Rama Nishad, Pramod Kumar Chandravanshi, and Surendra Mehta.
The senior leaders of JDU, including Shravan Kumar, Ashok Chaudhary, Leshi Singh, Madan Sahni, Sunil Kumar, Jama Khan, Ratnesh Sada, and Jayant Raj are likely to get key responsibilities in the new setup. The other leaders such as Manjarik Mrinal, Atirek Kumar, and Ruhel Ranjan are also the contenders, the reports stated.
Earlier in March, Nishant decided to enter politics after staying away from it for a very long time. While he remained active in social activities, Nishant never contested any poll or held any post in the party. With Nitish Kumar moving to national politics, Nishant's role is likely to be crucial in party's further decision making.
