Bihar News: A shocking instance has come to light in Bihar’s Araria. A video which has gone viral on social media shows a group of people tie up the hands of a man accused of theft and pull down his pants to pour chilli powder into his private parts. The torturous act was recorded on phones and it soon spread on social media. The Police have arrested one person in the matter, and termed the act as "inhuman".
“Yesterday, information was received about a video of an inhuman act related to the Araria district going viral on social media. In the said video, a young man was being tied with a rope by some people on the charge of theft and an inhuman act of putting some substance like chilli in his private parts was being done. When the received viral video was verified by the technical branch, it was found that the said video was from Islamnagar under the Araria police station area. FIR was registered against the accused involved in the said inhuman act under Araria Police Station. One of the accused involved in the incident, Mohd. Sifat has been arrested. Further action is being taken for the arrest of other accused involved in the said incident by verifying them,” said Araria Police.
The absurd video shows the victim with his hands tied and pants down. The man is forced to bow forward during which chilli powder is pored into his private parts. Adding to the cruelty, a pen is used to ensure the chilli powder enters his body. The man can be heard screaming in pain, pleading with the tormentors to stop.
Main Opposition RJD has targeted the Nitish Kumar-led JDU-BJP government over the incident, saying that this is "worse than Taliban".
"This is Nitish Kumar-BJP's Mahagundaraj-Mahajungleraj. This is worse then Taliban. The Chief Minister is not in his senses. Many murders are taking place in Bihar daily," RJD said in a post on X.
