Bihar SIR: The Election Commission clarified that while the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Bihar ended on September 1, the voters can add their names to the voter list until 10 days before nomination. The poll body further stated that the voters will also be able to make changes regarding the address or other details during the same period of time. It further asserted that a voter will be eligible to cast a vote even without receiving the voter ID card, adding that they can exercise their right to vote by showing any of the 12 identity cards after seeing the booth number on the voter service portal.

While providing details, the Electoral Registration Officer stated that the process of adding, deleting, or modifying names in the voter list continues throughout the year. He further stated that while the campaign to take claims and objections has ended, the voters can still add their names to the list. The officials further stated that any voter can apply to add their names by filling the appropriate form online.

Apart from this, the voters can get information about the BLO of his nearest booth from the 1950 helpline and submit Form-6, 7, or 8 with the necessary documents. Earlier on September 1, the Supreme Court denied extending the deadline for filing objections and claims in the draft rolls under the Bihar special intensive revision (SIR).

"As regards extension of time, note says that filing of claims/objections or corrections is not barred after 1 Sept. It is stated that the claims/objections/corrections can be submitted even after the deadline ie after 1 Sept and same will be considered after roll has been finalized," the Supreme Court stated.
