It was a comfortable win for Delhi CM Atishi, who, unlike the other key leaders including party AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, party leaders Manish Sisodia, and Saurabh Bhardwaj, managed to retain her seat. With the dreams of the Aam Aadmi Party shattered by BJP's massive victory, Atishi called the results of the Delhi Assembly Election 2025 a "setback" and accepted the people's mandate.
"First of all, I thank the people of Delhi and our party workers who stood strong. We accept the mandate. The war against BJP's dictatorship and hooliganism will continue. This is a setback but AAP's fight for the people of Delhi and the country will go on," Atishi told reporters.
Expressing gratitude to her supporters, the AAP leader said, "I thank the people who trusted me. I also thank my team, which faced all challenges and took our message to the public. I have won my seat but this is not a time for celebration -- this is the time to fight. The battle against BJP's authoritarianism will continue."
The Election Commission has not yet declared the winner from the Kalkaji seat, where Atishi is up against BJP's Ramesh Vidhuri and Congress's Alka Lamba. Stating that AAP has always fought against injustice and will continue to do so, Atishi said, "Yes, this may be one step back, but AAP will keep fighting."

Arvind Kejriwal Accepts 'People's Mandate'
As the Aam Aadmi Party's 10-year rule in the national capital comes to an end, former Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal acknowledged the mandate, congratulated the BJP on their victory, and urged them to fulfill the promises made during their campaign.
The former Chief Minister also highlighted the work done by AAP in the field of health, education, and infrastructure over the past decade, reaffirming that his party would play a "constructive role" in opposition while serving the people.
"We accept the mandate of the people with great humility. I congratulate the BJP for this victory and I hope they will fulfill all the promises for which people have voted for them," Kejriwal said in a video address.
"We have done a lot of work in the field of health, education, and infrastructure in the last 10 years. We will not only play the role of constructive opposition but will also remain among the people and continue to serve them. We did not come into politics for the sake of power, we considered politics as a medium through which the people could be served," he added.
