Delhi Metro Expansion: Delhi Metro is all set to induct around 312 new coaches as part of its Phase IV expansion. The rollout will begin soon after inspection and approval from the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS), according to a Times of India report.
The first Phase IV corridor: Majlis Park to Maujpur is expected to become operational later this year.
"These metro trains, comprising six coaches, are being procured by Delhi Metro for its phase IV operations. These trains underwent rigorous testing and commissioning, including the completion of oscillations and emergency brake distance trials conducted by the Research Designs and Standards Organisation. The trains will be inducted into public service shortly after CMRS inspection and clearance," a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) official was quoted as saying by TOI.
These trains are designed for driverless operations and align with the "Make in India" initiative, boasting more than 90 per cent indigenous content.

The first corridor under Delhi Metro Expansion Phase IV: Majlis Park to Maujpur is anticipated to become operational later this year.

Delhi Metro Expansion Phase IV: Check Train Speed
These trains under the Delhi Metro Expansion are built for a maximum speed of 95 kmph and an operational speed of 85 kmph. Coaches will also include more display screens and charging points for passenger convenience.
Delhi Metro Expansion Phase IV: Check New Station Extensions
Of the 312 coaches for the Delhi Metro expansion, from the Janakpuri West–RK Ashram Marg corridor, which is an extension of the Magenta Line, 144 new coaches (24 trains) will be added. The Majlis Park to Maujpur corridor, an extension of the Pink Line, will get 90 new coaches (15 trains). Aerocity to Tughlakabad, the new Golden Line, will be provided with 78 new coaches (13 trains).

Delhi Metro Expansion Phase IV: DMRC Gives New Tricolour Design For Easy Identification
The new coaches under the Delhi Metro expansion will sport a tricolour theme (saffron, white, green) to aid easy identification during driverless operations monitored from the Operations Control Centre (OCC).
Delhi Metro currently operates 350 trains across a 394 km network, serving 289 stations.
