Delhi Metro Green Line Project: Delhi Metro Green Line Project: Under Delhi Metro Phase-4, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has invited bids to carry out work on tunnels, ramps, and four underground Metro stations on the Green Line from Inderlok to Indraprastha. The stations include Dayabasti, Jhandewalan Mandir, Sarai Rohilla and Ajmal Khan Park.
Under Delhi Metro phase 4 expansion, DMRC is constructing approximately103 km of new metro lines for 6 corridors. These include - Janakpuri West to RK Ashram Marg (Magenta Line Extension), Aerocity to Tughlakabad (the new Golden Line) and Majlis Park to Maujpur (Pink Line Extension).
The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Modi approved two new corridors under Phase-4 of the Delhi Metro in March 2024.
The first corridor is the Green Line extension from Inderlok to Indraprastha and is 12.3 km long, featuring 10 new stations. The second is from Lajpat Nagar to Saket G-Block under the upcoming Golden Line connecting Tughlakabad to Aerocity. This stretch is 8 km in length.
The bidder will have to get the work done on the entry and exit points of a fifth station at Nabi Karim. The work includes drainage, provision of water supply and retrieval and launching shafts.
Green Line Extension Stations are: Inderlok, Dayabasti, Ajmal Khan Park, Jhandewalan Mandir, Nabi Karim, New Delhi, Delhi Gate, Delhi Sachivalaya, and Indraprastha. Of the total 12.3 km stretch, 11.3 km will be underground, while only 1 km will be elevated, according to officials familiar with the project. There shall be five interchanges on the extended corridor. These will be at Inderlok, Nabi Karim, New Delhi, Delhi Gate and Indraprastha. This will provide connections to the Red, Magenta, Yellow, Violet and Blue lines of the Metro network, as per an Hindustan Times report.
