Mock Drill In Delhi Today: Delhi will sound air raid sirens at 4 PM, marking the start of “Operation Abhyaas,” a nationwide civil defence exercise on Wednesday. This mock drill aims to mobilise thousands of volunteers, police officers, rescue teams and bureaucrats to respond to simulated emergencies across the capital.

Delhi Mock Drill Today: What To expect?

The drill will simulate various critical scenarios, including air raids, urban fires, casualty evacuations and the establishment of temporary hospitals. It is designed to test Delhi’s readiness for wartime situations and the resilience of its citizens. Coordinated efforts will take place at over 55 locations throughout the city, with five sites selected in each of the 11 districts.

CM Rekha Gupta Says Delhi Is "Fully Prepared"

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed confidence in the preparations, stating that Delhi is “fully prepared” and that the drill will adhere to Central guidelines. District Magistrates have chosen diverse sites for the exercise, including markets, residential areas, hospitals and schools, to ensure comprehensive coverage of all essential sectors.

Delhi Mock Drill And Power Cut Timing

The drill is scheduled to run from 4 PM to 7 PM and a temporary blackout will occur at 7 PM across the city. However, officials have not confirmed whether this blackout will affect only critical installations or extend throughout the entire city.

Delhi Mock Drill News

According to officials involved in the planning, the drill will kick off with the sirens indicating an incoming air raid. This will trigger a series of responses, including blackout procedures, communication with the Indian Air Force, activation of control rooms and evacuation protocols. An official stated, “The objective is to mimic a layered crisis and evaluate our coordinated response, demonstrating our serious preparedness.”

Mock Drills In Gurugram, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Noida

- In Gurgaon, control rooms have been established and preparations include educating students about blackout precautions during school assemblies.

- In Faridabad, the Deputy Commissioner has reviewed plans for the drill, focusing on civil safety and emergency management.

- Ghaziabad and Noida will also participate, with drills scheduled at local schools and colleges. Civil defence staff will educate students on the importance of emergency preparedness during these exercises.
