Delhi Traffic Advisory: Commuters in the national capital have been grappling with severe traffic congestion over the past few days due to the heightened security measures and restrictions linked to the ongoing India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam.

However, the situation is unlikely to ease as further traffic disruptions are expected over the next three days due to the Delhi Bar Council election. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory stating, "Special traffic arrangements will be in place in connection with the Election for 25 Members of the Bar Council of Delhi at the Delhi High Court compound on 21st, 22nd & 23rd February 2026."

The Delhi Traffic Police have advised commuters to plan their journeys via alternate routes and cooperate with traffic personnel to minimise congestion.

Election For Members For Bar Council Of Delhi

According to the advisory, the election for 25 members of the Bar Council of Delhi, a statutory body constituted under the Advocates Act, 1961, will be held on February 21, 22 and 23, 2026, at the Delhi High Court compound.

To ensure smooth vehicular movement, the Delhi Traffic Police have announced that traffic restrictions will be in place from 9 AM to 6 PM on February 21, 22 and 23.

THIS Route To Remain Closed For Vehicles

- According to the traffic advisory, Sher Shah Road will be closed for vehicular traffic from both sides (India Gate and Mathura Road) on February 21, 22 and 23.

- Additionally, no vehicles will be allowed to halt or park on C-Hexagon, India Gate or the surrounding areas.

- Vehicles found parked on the above roads shall be towed to the traffic pit in front of Bhairo Mandir, Bhairo Marg, and legal action will be taken.

As per the advisory, advocates can park their vehicles at Zoo Parking and Gate No. 5A of the National Stadium.

- Authorities have urged commuters to avoid affected routes, use public transport wherever possible and cooperate with traffic personnel to minimise congestion.

- Commuters travelling to ISBT, the railway station, or the airport are advised to allow extra time for travel.
