DUSU Elections 2023: Elections to the Delhi University's students' representative body, Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) are being held today in several colleges in the national capital. In view of the students' body polls the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory on Friday and urged commuters to avoid certain routes.
In a notification, the Delhi Traffic Police said that commercial vehicles won't be allowed to enter the Delhi University (DU) area on Friday and urged commuters to follow the traffic advisory.

"Today DUSU election is to be held in Delhi North Campus, Delhi University. Commuters are advised to avoid following routes for their convenience: There is No Entry for Commercial Vehicles in Delhi University area and Chhatra Marg is completely closed for all Motorists," the Delhi Traffic Police wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The DUSU elections are being held for four top posts in the student body including that of president, vice president, joint secretary and secretary with 24 candidates in the fray.

The polls for the four-member union are being conducted after a three-year hiatus, which was mandated due to the COVID-related restrictions across the nation.
In the spotlight this year are prominent organisations, including the RSS-supported Akhil Bharatiya Vishwa Parishad (ABVP), the Congress-affiliated National Students' Union of India (NSUI), the left-leaning All India Students Association (AISA), and the Students' Federation of India (SFI), who have fielded their candidates against each other.
