Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Engineering fraternity on National Engineers Day while paying his tribute to Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, the engineering pioneer of India on whose birth anniversary the day is celebrated.
Lauding the contributions of engineers in nation-building, he praised their dedication and called them the backbone of the country's progress. PM Modi took to his official handle on the social media platform 'X' to greet them.
“Greetings to all hard-working engineers on EngineersDay! Their innovative minds and tireless dedication have been the backbone of our nation's progress. From infrastructural marvels to tech breakthroughs, their contributions touch every aspect of our lives,” he posted.

The Prime Minister also extended his tributes to Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, one of the country's foremost civil engineers on his birth anniversary.
“On Engineer's Day, we pay homage to Sir M Visvesvaraya, a visionary engineer and statesman. He continues to inspire generations to innovate and serve the nation. Here are glimpses from Chikkaballapura, where I paid homage to him during my visit earlier this year," he posted.
The Prime Minister also posted a few pictures of his visit to Chikkaballapura which he visited earlier this year.

Along with the PM, ministers, politicians, CEOs and Bureaucrats also took to the social media platforms and posted their greetings. Home Minister Amit Shah also posted his greetings for the fraternity and paid tributes to Sir M Visvesvaraya. In his post, he said that Sir M. Visvesvaraya powered our civilization with his inimitable engineering genius, designing and shaping a vast range of structures.

Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya was born on September 15 and was the 19th Diwan of Mysore who served the position from 1912 to 1918. National Engineers Day is celebrated to honour his great contributions to the field of engineering. He was behind the construction of engineering and educational institutes including the KRS reservoir.
