Faridabad Crime: In Jawahar Colony, under Saran police station limits, a salesman allegedly killed a woman he had been living with for the past 10 years and hid her body inside a bed. To prevent neighbours from noticing the smell, the accused burnt incense sticks across the house.
After committing the crime, the man, identified as Jitendra, went to his grandmother, Sundari Devi and confessed that he had killed his live-in partner, Sonia. Alarmed by his confession, Sundari Devi immediately informed the Saran police. When officers reached the house, they found it locked. With the help of the landlord, police broke open the lock and entered the premises. A foul smell led them to the bed, where they discovered Sonia’s body in a decomposed state.
Jitendra, who sold clothes on a bicycle, had started living with Sonia, a resident of Badkhal Colony, after the death of his wife Poonam 12 years ago. He had cut off ties with his two children following his wife’s death. According to his grandmother, there had been no communication with him over the last decade.
On Saturday evening, Jitendra approached his grandmother, saying that, "I Killed Soniya" and was heading to the police station to surrender. However, he never reached there. Fearing for her safety and shaken by the revelation, Sundari Devi went herself to the police and narrated the incident.

Police officers, accompanied by Sundari Devi, reached the rented house where Jitendra lived. After breaking the lock, they noticed a strong odour inside. Upon opening the bed, they recovered Sonia’s body and called a forensic team to the scene for investigation.
Investigating officer Sundar Singh said efforts are on to locate and arrest Jitendra. Officials have also informed Sonia’s son Harsh, who is currently studying hotel management in Mumbai. Police will be questioning him to gather more details about Sonia’s background and her connection with Jitendra.
Authorities have launched a search operation to find the accused, who remains absconding.
