Special task officials on Saturday nabbed a 37-year-old man, who posed as an army doctor and an official in the Prime Minister’s office, from Odisha’s Jajpur. The fraudster also claimed he was a close associate of some high-ranking National Investigation Agency officials, HT reported.

Sayed Ishaan Bukhari, alias Ishaan Bukhari, aka Dr Ishaan Bukhari, who is a resident of Kashmir’s Kupwara was arrested by the state CID officers. The Kashmir police wanted Bukhari in a cheating and forgery case. A non-bailable warrant was pending against him, the media outlet quoted Jai Narayan Pankaj, inspector general of police, as saying.
The police have confiscated forged documents, multiple IDs and four mobile phones from the possession of the miscreant. The phones will be sent for examination to collect information about chat and links.
As per police, Bukhari was married to 6-7 girls in Kashmir, UP, Maharashtra and Odisha. He was also in a romantic relationship with many other girls as he brandished his fake international degrees to attract them.

The officials said he was also linked with some anti-national elements but his role need a thorough probe. “We have ample evidence against the accused being a fraudster. It is too early to say anything regarding his involvement in terror plots, but he had some links with Pakistan and it will be verified. We cannot rule out that he was a Pakistani spy. But as of now, we do not have much evidence. However, we are in touch with the NIA,” Pankaj said.
