Ganesh Chaturthi 2023: The Sri Sathya Ganapathy Temple of Karnataka's Bengaluru has been adorned with coins and currency notes worth Rs 2.5 crore on the occasion of Ganesh Chathurthi.

This JP Nagar temple is famous for its unique and out-of-the-box decorations that give its premises a magnificent touch during Ganesh Mahotsav celebrations every year.

Unsurprisingly, this year too, they have showcased a unique style and decorated the temple using huge coins and currency notes ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 500 denominations.

The temple managed by Sri Sathya Ganapathy Shirdi Sai Trust has used coins worth Rs 70 lakh and currency notes worth Rs 2.5 crore, according to trustees. They have also crafted garlands of 5, 10, and 20 rupee coins, as well as 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500 rupee notes.

The extravagant design, which was completed over the course of a month by a dedicated crew of 150 people, has been outfitted with cutting-edge security systems and CCTV surveillance to assure its safety, according to one of the trustees.

Temple trustee, Mohan Raju said, "For 11 years, we have been doing different types of 'alankaras'...This time, all the trustees have planned to do it with coins and notes...The total cost is Rs 52.50 lakhs of coins and Rs 2 crores 6 lakhs of notes...Every year we do it differently..."

The meticulous use of coins to create creative depictions of Lord Ganesha, 'Jai Karnataka,' 'Nation First,' 'Vikram Lander,' 'Chandrayaan,' and 'Jai Jawaan Jai Kisan', made the decor even more impressive and attracted devotees.
