Ganesh Chaturthi 2024 Famous Temples: Hindus celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi, also called Vinayaka Chaturthi or Ganesh Utsav, as the birth of the adored elephant-headed god, Lord Ganesha. Many states, including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and Karnataka, commemorate the occasion with great fanfare. This year, the festival will begin on September 7 and last 10 days, concluding on September 17.
Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the god of knowledge, wealth, and good fortune. Ganesh Chaturthi is observed by installing Ganesh clay idols in homes and public places. On the day of Anant Chaturdashi, the idol is brought in a public parade and submerged (visarjan) in a sea river to mark the end of the celebration.

Lalbaugcha Raja
The Pune-based temple gains prominence during Ganesh Chaturthi, a festival celebrated with great fervour and devotion in Maharashtra. This temple is well-known for its gigantic size and excellent craftsmanship of the Ganesha idol. Usually, priceless jewellery and ornaments are used to embellish it.
Siddhivinayak Temple
Siddhivinayak Temple, one of the most well-known Ganesh temples in the country, is situated in Prabhadevi, Mumbai. Often, celebrities and dignitaries visit this temple to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesh.
Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple
This famous temple is located close to Pune. This temple's representation of Lord Ganesh is 7.5 feet tall and 4 feet broad. To obtain blessings from the Lord, a large number of politicians and celebrities visit the temple. The Ganesh idol is adorned with gold jewellery during Ganesh Chaturthi, which enhances its radiance.
Moti Dungri Temple
One of India's most treasured Ganesh temples is the Moti Dungri Temple, honouring Lord Ganesh and situated in Jaipur, Rajasthan. An idol of Ganpati thought to be more than fifty years old, is kept at the shrine; it was transported from Gujarat. Seth Jai Ram Paliwal is credited with erecting both the temple and its idol.
Khajrana Ganesh Temple
The temple is situated in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The raw materials that went into making Lord Ganesh's statue were bricks, jaggery, limestone, mud, soil, water, and other elements. The external wall and entrance of the temple are made of silver and include images of many celebrations and moods. The upper wall of the temple is made of silver, while the deity's eyes are made of diamonds, according to the official website.
