Gujarat Weather Forecast: With three rain systems active near Gujarat, the state braces for more rain after receiving 50.6 mm rainfall against the long-average of 2.5 mm until May 27. This was 20 times or 1925 per cent higher than the normal average rainfall. As per the data of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Gujarat received the highest rainfall among the three coastal states, receiving more than 1000 per cent of rainfall. Gujarat was followed by 1225% of rain in Maharashtra and 1190% in Goa.
Gujarat Weather Nowcast: Orange Alert In Dangs And Tapi
According to the nowcast valid till 1 pm on Thursday, the weather department had placed two south Gujarat districts under orange alert for moderate rain with moderate thunderstorms with surface winds of 41 to 61 kmph. The districts under orange alert are Dangs and Tapi.

The next 7 forecasts indicate heavy to very heavy rainfall in several districts of Gujarat on Thursday and Friday. There is no alert beyond May 30, and days are expected to be dry.
May 29: The weather department forecast places 9 Gujarat districts under yellow alert for heavy rainfall. The districts under yellow alert are Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, and Tapi. Two Saurashtra districts, Amreli and Bhavnagar, have also been placed under yellow alert.
Light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning and surface wind 40-50 kmph accompanied by light to moderate rain is very likely at isolated places in all the districts of North Gujarat region, namely Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, Ahmedabad, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod and Mahisagar; in all the districts of South Gujarat region, namely Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Navsari, Valsad, and Tapi. The same weather conditions are expected in all the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch.
May 30: Light to moderate thunderstorms with lightning and surface winds of 40-50 kmph, accompanied by light to moderate rain, are very likely at isolated places in all the districts of the North Gujarat region, including Banaskantha, Patan, Mehsana, Sabarkantha, Gandhinagar, Aravalli, Kheda, and Ahmedabad, among others. The same weather conditions are expected in all the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch.
According to the data of the weather department, days beyond that are expected to be normal and dry. However weather forecast is subject to change.
