Gujarat Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that several districts of Gujarat are likely to receive light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that the coastal regions are expected to witness very heavy rainfall along with gusty winds and thunderstorms. It further stated that the continuous rainfall is likely to provide major relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
Gujarat Weather Forecast Till August 24:
- August 18 and 19: The weather department stated that several districts, including Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Porbandar, and Junagadh, are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall. Apart from this, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, Botad, Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan, Sabarkantha, Aravalli, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Bharuch, and Surat are expected to witness moderate to heavy rainfall.
- August 20 and 21: The IMD stated that very heavy rain is expected in Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Amreli, and Bhavnagar. Apart from this, Bharuch, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Rajkot, Porbandar, Junagadh, Dwarka, Gir Somnath, and Diu are likely to witness heavy rain. It further stated that several districts, including Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Kheda, Vadodara, Chhota Udepur, Surendranagar, Jamnagar, Morbi, Botad, and Kutch, are likely to receive light to moderate rain.
- August 22 and 23: The weather department stated that several districts, including Banaskantha, Patan, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Morbi, Dwarka, and Kutch, are likely to witness rainfall, along with thunderstorms and strong surface winds.
- August 23 and 24: Heavy rain expected in Navsari, Valsad, Banaskantha, Patan, Surat, Dang, Tapi, Jamnagar, Morbi, Dwarka, and Kutch. The IMD has advised the fishermen to maintain a distance from the water bodies to avoid inconveniences.
