Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign: Days ahead of the 77th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged the nation on Friday to take part in the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' movement from August 13 to 15. PM Modi, taking to Twitter, said that the Indian flag symbolised the spirit of freedom and national unity. He has also urged people to upload their photographs on ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ website.

"The Tiranga symbolises the spirit of freedom and national unity. Every Indian has an emotional connect with the Tricolour and it inspires us to work harder to further national progress. I urge you all to take part in the #HarGharTiranga movement between 13th to 15th August. Upload your photos with the Tiranga here... https://harghartiranga.com," Modi tweeted.

According to the website, 6,14,55,666 selfies have so far been uploaded. It also asked the public to hoist a flag at their house from August 13 to 15.

The website provided the option of uploading selfies with a flag and states, "Get featured in Digital Tiranga Art by uploading a selfie with a flag."

The Government of India, under the aegis of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM)' introduced the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' Campaign last year. The campaign was an immense success in 2022, when 23 crore households hoisted the Tiranga at their homes physically and six crore people uploaded selfies on the HGT Website.

On Friday, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar flagged off the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' bike rally from New Delhi's Pragati Maidan. As part of Har Ghar Tirangan Abhiyan 2.0, the government has announced that citizens can buy national flags from their nearest post office for a nominal cost of Rs 25, like last year. This initiative aims to promote patriotism and national pride among citizens.
