Himani Narwal Case: Haryana Police arrested one accused in the murder case of Congress worker Himani Narwal, news agency ANI reported on Monday. Himani’s body was discovered stuffed inside a suitcase near Sampla bus stand in Rohtak on Saturday morning, March 1, three days after she went missing. The Haryana Police on Sunday set up a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the murder. The family of Narwal had refused to cremate her body until her killers were arrested. They also alleged that some leaders in the Congress party envied her political rise in a short span.

According to the police, she had been living alone at her ancestral home in Vijayanagar, Rohtak, for the past five months and had attended a wedding last week.
Earlier in the day, Savita Devi reached the mortuary ahead of Himani’s postmortem and expressed dissatisfaction with the police investigation. She also raised suspicions about the role of Congress members, claiming her daughter’s success had made her a target. "Some people were envious of her progress," she alleged, adding that she would not allow Himani’s last rites until the culprits were arrested.

Himani Narwal's Political Stint
Savita Devi recalled that Himani had walked alongside Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir, but after the elections, she became disillusioned with politics. "Now, the party is ignoring her," she claimed.

She also revealed a tragic family history, stating that her elder son was murdered in 2011 and justice was never served. "To protect my second son, I sent him to a BSF camp," she added.
