Jharkhand Weather: As per the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain and thunder on May 16 and 17, due to which the temperature may drop from 25 to 39 degrees Celsius in Jharkhand, jagran.com reported. However, a heatwave alert has been issued in some districts. There is a possibility of heat stroke between 11 am to 3 pm. The alert has been issued for Dhanbad, Bokaro, Sahibganj, Godda, Pakur, Jamtara, Deoghar, Dumka. The conditions will prevail in these districts till May 14.
Partly Cloudy Skies Expected
According to the weather department, Monday will also be partly cloudy, with chances of rain, thunder or dust storm. The temperature will be between 28 and 41 degrees Celsius. Mainly clear skies are expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, but the weather may change again with rain and thunder likely from May 15.
In Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi, the temperature reached 40.7 degrees Celsius. The heat of the day and the humidity in the evening made it difficult for the residents. However, at around 9 pm on Sunday half an hour of rain with thunderstorms brought relief to the people.
Temperature Crossed 40 Degrees
According to India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) data, the maximum temperature of Jamshedpur on Sunday was 40.7 degrees Celsius, which is 0.4 degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 27 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 52 percent at 8:30 am, which dropped to 33 percent at 5:30 pm, making people more uncomfortable due to humidity.
“This rain came like a lifesaver. After the heat of the day, the coolness of the night brought relief. Children enjoyed getting drenched in the rain and many families enjoyed this soothing weather on the rooftops,” said Ramesh Singh, a resident of Jugsalai, as per a jagran.com report.
