Kolkata Weather: Kolkata is likely to be drenched in the coming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast intermittent rain and thunderstorms in Kolkata on Saturday. The weather body has issued a yellow alert in this regard. Lightning accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph are also expected in the city. 

“Widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall and isolated extremely heavy rainfall very likely over districts of South Bengal during next 24 hours. Also, due to strong monsoon flow, widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy rainfall activity likely to continue in subsequent six days over some districts of South Bengal,” IMD said in its bulletin on Friday.

South Bengal Weather Forecast

July 26: Heavy rainfall (07-11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over Purulia, Bankura, South 24 Parganas districts of South Bengal.

July 27: Heavy rainfall (07-11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over Nadia, Murshidabad districts of South Bengal.

July 28: Heavy rainfall (07-11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over Nadia, North 24 Parganas districts of South Bengal.

July 29: Heavy to very rainfall (07-20 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas districts. Heavy rainfall (07-11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over Kolkata, Howrah, Hoogly, East Burdwan, East and West Midnapore districts of South Bengal.

July 30: Heavy rainfall (07-11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over East Burdwan, West Burdwan, Birbhum, Purulia, Bankura districts of South Bengal.

July 31: Heavy rainfall (07-11 cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over Birbhum, Murshidabad districts of South Bengal.
