Bihar News: RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav has gone to Singapore for a routine checkup, but he will also be tightening the family's loose strings there. This will have two benefits: First, the family, which is going through a period of disunity, will be united, and second, the possibility of turmoil within the party will be relatively reduced. Lalu left for Singapore on Friday afternoon for routine kidney, eye, and other health checkups. Rabri Devi accompanied him.

Lalu has been staying in Delhi since Sunday for the above ceremony. He left for Singapore from there. He underwent a kidney transplant at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore in December 2022. The trip is a follow-up and routine post-transplant checkup. His passport was deposited in the court as he was on bail in the fodder scam cases. The court had previously granted permission to release his passport based on the doctor's advice and considering his health condition.

Lalu Likely To Aim At Uniting Family

Lalu will be trying to soften the mood of his disgruntled daughter, Rohini Acharya, towards Tejashwi Yadav, whom he has appointed as the successor to the party and family. With Rohini's softening, it will become easier for Tej Pratap Yadav to open up to the family, a need and expectation that Lalu and Tej Pratap Yadav have now come to understand.

The RJD chief will stay at the residence of his daughter, Rohini, who donated her kidney to him. During a discussion on RJD's defeat in the assembly elections, Rohini had castigated two of Tejashwi's confidants (Sanjay Yadav and Rameez). Subsequent circumstances forced her to distance herself from the family.

Tej Pratap Ousted From Family And Party

Tej Pratap had been expelled from his former family party after publicising his 12-year-old love affair in May 2025. He formed the Janshakti Janata Dal and contested the elections unsuccessfully.

Tej Pratap Softens Stand On Tejashwi

Tej Pratap, who saw a debacle in the election as his party couldn't win a single seat, now needs a place to continue his political career. He has already indicated a rapprochement by attending the first birthday of Tejashwi's son, Iraj.

However, a seat in the Legislative Council is emerging for the RJD. Family is always the priority in RJD's policy, but Tejashwi is hesitant as he is attempting to rebrand his party. Fund management and support base are also issues for the party's operations. The two MLCs whose terms are ending are Sunil Kumar Singh and Mohammad Farooq.
