Jagran Correspondent, Gwalior: In another case of misuse of artificial intelligence, a 24-year-old woman in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior has alleged that an unknown person created her fake nude pictures and circulated them on social media. The victim filed a police complaint alleging that she and her family members were threatened by the miscreants. The officials stated that a detailed probe has been launched into the matter, adding that the evidence is being monitored.
As per the victim, she received repeated calls from an unknown mobile number between May 21 and June 10. The caller claimed that he possessed her objectionable pictures and threatened to circulate them on the socials. The accused later shared some of the pictures via WhatsApp, sending a shockwave across the family. The woman alleged that the images are completely fake and were created using AI technology.
The accused demanded Rs 1 lakh from the family, further threatening to share the pictures with the relatives in case of failure. In her complaint, the victim stated that the incident has troubled her and the family members, adding that they have been mentally harassed. She further claimed that she never took those pictures and they were created by using the AI tools to malign her image.
The Thatipur police station, upon receiving the complaint, registered the case and began a detailed investigation into the matter. As per the reports, the officials are currently investigating the relevant mobile number and WhatsApp activities. Cyber experts are also being involved to determine the platform or technology used to create the images and with whom they were shared.

As per the cyber experts, the incidents of misuse of AI technology to blackmail people by creating fake photos and videos have increased significantly in the past few months.
