In a shocking incident, at least five people were killed and around 10 individuals suffered injuries after a boiler exploded at a private pharmaceutical manufacturing unit in the special economic zone of Sri City in Satyavedu mandal of Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati district on Saturday morning. Initial reports reveal that the wounded individuals were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. The exact cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained.

It is alleged that the the boiler suddenly exploded while workers were on the night shift, sparking a massive fire inside the industrial unit and causing panic in the industrial area.
How did survivors respond?
After the explsosion, a survivor narrated his experience, saying he had asked for idlis and had just started eating when fire erupted from somewhere. He said the fire caught on, his chest started burning, and his throat felt completely burnt, with the burning sensation spreading to his chest.
One of the woman, identified as Krishnaveni, claimed she had come for duty and was sitting in the canteen when she was hit. She said she was having snacks when she was struck, having no clue of what is happening inside. She said something may have fallen from above while she was standing near the canteen.
CM Expresses Condolences
Reacting to the incident, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock over the blast and loss of lives and enquired with officials about the incident.
CM Chandrababu Naidu expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and instructed officials to stand by the affected families. Andhra Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha is expected to visit the site.
Tirupati MP reacts to explosion
Tirupati MP Maddila Gurumoorthi expressed shock and grief over the explosion. He conveyed condolences to the families of the workers who died and urged authorities to speed up rescue and relief operations.
Gurumoorthi also called for a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident.
