Ganesh Visarjan 2026: Ganesh Chaturthi, the 10-day festival dedicated to Lord Ganesha, is currently being celebrated across the country. The festival concludes with Ganesh Visarjan, when devotees bid farewell to Lord Ganesha and immerse the idol. Authorities have made extensive arrangements for devotees in Delhi to carry out the immersion while following environmental and traffic-related guidelines.
Where Can You Perform Ganesh Visarjan In Delhi?
Immersion of Ganpati idols in the Yamuna river is strictly prohibited in Delhi, in compliance with directions from the Delhi High Court and the Delhi Pollution Control Committee. To facilitate Visarjan, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), along with the Delhi Irrigation and Flood Control Department, has constructed temporary artificial ponds in different zones of the city.
Major artificial immersion locations include:
South and South-West Delhi: Dwarka Sector 10 and Sector 11 DDA grounds, Vasant Kunj near C-Block, Saket DDA park and Chhatarpur Mandir complex grounds.
East and North-East Delhi: Vasundhara Enclave ground, Mayur Vihar Phase-3 district park grounds, Laxmi Nagar DDA grounds and Yamuna Vihar block sports complex.
West Delhi: Janakpuri DDA ground, Punjabi Bagh stadium grounds, Paschim Vihar district park and Tilak Nagar artificial pits.
North and North-West Delhi: Rohini Sector 11 and Sector 24 grounds, Pitampura TV Tower grounds, Burari ground and areas around Model Town lake park.

Ganesh Visarjan 2026: Delhi Travel Advisory
Delhi Police will deploy personnel across the city to manage traffic during Ganesh Visarjan. Traffic diversions are expected mainly in the late afternoon and evening on immersion days. Special lanes will be provided for devotees carrying Ganpati idols. Medium and heavy commercial vehicles will not be allowed on major procession routes from 2 pm to midnight on Anant Chaturdashi. Commuters have been advised to check the latest advisory from Delhi police.
While Anant Chaturdashi marks the final day of the 10-day celebrations, Visarjan is also observed earlier by many families and pandals as per their traditions. Some families may perform Visarjan after 1.5, 3, 5 or 7 days, depending on their traditions.
