Naidunia Representative, Mandla: At least four devotees died and three others were injured in an electrocution incident in Hirapur village, located within the Nainpur police station jurisdiction of Madhya Pradesh's Mandla district, on Saturday.
The incident took place in the early hours of the morning when young men were sleeping on a stage inside a Ganesh pandal after the Ganesh Visarjan festivities.
Among the injured, one person is in critical condition and has been referred to Mandla District Hospital, while the other two are reported to be stable. The deceased have been identified as Birendra Bhangar (55), Krishna Kumar Bhambre (19), Ravi (24), and Jainu Bhambre (39).

What Happened?
According to preliminary information, youths who returned to the pandal to sleep after the Ganesh immersion were struck when a short circuit caused a power wire to snap and fall onto them. Due to rain in the area for the past two days, there was moisture in and around the pandal. Following this, some people came into contact with the broken wire and were caught in the electrocution.

Following the accident, panic broke out at the scene, and villagers immediately alerted local authorities. Nainpur police station personnel arrived at the spot and rushed the injured to the hospital for treatment, while administrative officials also inspected the site. Police have initiated a formal investigation into the matter.
