'If He Felt Sorry, He Would Have Stopped': Gurugram Woman Biker Slams Sedan Driver After Hit-And-Run Case

In the latest developments in the Gurugram hit-and-run case, the woman Sia asked the driver Kalyan Bainsla that if he really “felt sorry for her”, he would’ve stopped and helped her. Sharing a video on Instagram, Sia said, "Such a sympathy-seeking character does not suit him (the accused) at all.”

Bainsla claimed that there were more than 20 bikers, including the woman, and that they were repeatedly fluctuating their speeds frequently. He also claimed the bikers pinched him and that he was unaware of a woman riding the bike. To this, Sia responded, saying that even as the accused felt the bikers were changing their speed constantly, it did not authorise him the right to chase her throughout the road.

The Instagram user, by the name of Sia_rebelwheels_, further denied Bainsla's claim of being unaware that the biker was a woman. "This is absolutely untrue. He noticed my plaited hair from behind. He saw that, chased me, asked me to stop the car and then acted accordingly."

Bainsla previously questioned the CCTV footage, saying that the sequence shown in the viral videos presented one side of the story. He also questioned the release of only two videos and demanded the survivor's friend's name be revealed. Sia countered his claim, saying the video clearly shows that Bainsla brutally collided with his car with her motorcycle.

'Are Two Videos Not Enough'

"In a hit-and-run case, how are two videos not enough? One video clearly shows the driver switching to the third lane from the first, hitting me and fleeing. Another front-angle video also shows him switching lanes, ramming my bike and running off. I was thrown off, dragged under his car. Are these two videos not enough for proof?" She asked in the Instagram video.

The woman biker alleged that even a delay of two to three seconds could have caused her far more injuries, including multiple fractures. "I could have died on the spot."

"If the driver felt such concern for me, it was his responsibility to stop, step out of his car, and check to see if there were any injuries...Such a sympathy-seeking character does not suit him at all. All the videos show how he rammed my bike and fled the spot without even stopping for a second to see if I was dead or alive. I feel ashamed of such people...they don't realise that there are women in their families as well," Sia said in her video statement, stressing that such incidents make women feel unsafe on Gurugram and Delhi roads.

The incident occurred on Sunday at Gurugram's Golf Course Road when Sia was riding with fellow bikers. She was injured after Bainsla, driving a white sedan, rammed her bike in what police are treating as a suspected hit-and-run case. The collision was captured on an action camera mounted on her superbike, and the footage subsequently went viral on social media. Gurugram Police took suo motu cognisance of the incident and registered an FIR against an unidentified person.
