The family of the Jamui boy who was allegedly assaulted at Madwa Pahad spoke to the media for the first time, recounting how the student returned home with bruises and remained locked in his room for nearly two days. His father said the family initially did not know what had happened and learned about the incident only after receiving a video of it on WhatsApp.
The father said he received a call from a staff member in his office around 5 pm on Sunday. The staff member told him that some people were beating his son and asked him to find out where he was. Shortly afterwards, the staff member sent him a video of the incident on WhatsApp.
After watching the video, the father said he panicked and immediately returned home. He found his son in his room and began asking what had happened.
Jamui Boy Stayed Locked In Room For Two Days
The father said his son had returned home at around 9:30 pm on September 19 with bruises on parts of his body. When he asked about the injuries, the student simply said, "I fell. I'm going to sleep now, don't wake me up."
The next day, when the boy still had not come out of his room by noon, his father called him for lunch. He replied, "I'm not feeling well. I won't eat." The family initially thought he might have a fever due to the changing weather. They ordered his favourite food from outside and left it in his room.
Viral Video Revealed What Happened
The father said he showed the viral video to his son on Sunday evening. Initially, the student remained silent and was reluctant to speak as he was scared.
The father then consoled him, saying, "Don't be afraid, I'm with you. What's done can't be undone, but the full details must be revealed."
The student subsequently narrated the incident. According to the family, he had gone to tuition with a friend. Later, the two went towards the area and reached there at around 6:15 pm.
While returning at around 7 pm, some boys allegedly stopped them. The student was then allegedly assaulted and sexually assaulted. A video of the incident was also allegedly recorded and later circulated online.
The father said his son became nervous while recounting the incident and his health began to deteriorate. The family then focused on taking care of him and remained concerned about his condition.
Father Says Society Must Be Sensitive
The father said, "The accused should have considered why they acted this way with a child. They also have a mother, sister, and sister-in-law at home."
He appealed to society to be more sensitive towards children and urged parents to give them love and moral education. He said children should be taught about their mistakes rather than simply being scolded.
The father also expressed satisfaction with the police action and said that given the actions of the accused, a full-scale encounter should have taken place.
Mother Recalls Two Difficult Days
The victim's mother said her husband returned home on the evening of September 20 in a frightened state and showed her the video he had received on WhatsApp.
The family then went to the boy's room and spoke to him. According to his mother, he described the incident in detail.
"These seven days were very tough for us, but now we are slowly returning to normal life. I received excellent support from the administration for this," she said. The mother said her son had remained very quiet and shaken since the incident.
