Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday has urged all patriots to gather at Central Park in Connaught Place (CP), carrying the tricolour at 5 PM on October 16, reported PTI. Dipke urged people to join the gathering, stating that the event aims to demonstrate that waving the tricolour is not a crime.

This move comes after CJP's co-convenors Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were sent to 5-day judicial custody for sneaking into Jantar Mantar and waving the tricolour. For the uninitiated, Jantar Mantar has been officially denotified as a protest site.

Dipke earlier compared their arrest to the way freedom fighters were being treated during British rule. Even Congress leader Rahul Gandhi slammed the government over CJP leaders' judicial custody, stating that since when waving the tricolour and protesting peacefully became a crime. He asserted that jailing youth for peaceful demonstration is an act of 'cowardice'.

Dipke on Singer Mary Millben's ‘US Donors’ Remark

Dipke also reacted to singer Mary Millben's remarks that CJP gets funded by donors in the US. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Dipke asked why PM Modi is "seeking support of Americans to discredit Indians."

“Why is Modi seeking the support of Americans to discredit his own countrymen? Who gave foreign nationals the right to interfere in India’s internal affairs?" Dipke wrote.

The CJP founder said that Indians are more capable of dealing with their own issues. "We don’t need outsiders interfering in our country’s affairs,” he added.

What Did Singer Mary Millben Say?

Naming Abhijeet Dipke and the CJP, the singer wrote, “To all the beautiful young patriots in India: This is not the time to be silent."

She said that CJP "are being funded by donors in the U.S. who are against Prime Minister @NarendraModi and your future under his leadership. Do not fear, my young patriots. Your Prime Minister, who has served India for 25 years, 12 years as Prime Minister, elected three consecutive terms, is not going to bow to disruptive forces from my country."
