Shinde To Lead Protest: CJP
Hours after Dipke, Ranka, and Das got detained from their flight upon landing at the IGI airport, the CJP stated that Shinde will lead the protest at Jantar Mantar. The pressure group released the pre-recorded video of Dipke amid the speculations on the future of the protest.
"Until Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka are in detention, CJP’s Organization In-Charge Ajinkya Shinde will lead this protest at Jantar Mantar. Abhijeet had pre-recorded this video last night in anticipation of a potential arrest," CJP wrote in the caption. Shinde has been the part of pressure group since the first protest and has been given the responsibility to boost the organization beyond the metro cities.
Protest Will Continue: Dipke
Earlier, Dipke had clarified that the pressure group will continue the protest across the nation until the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. "We will continue to fight for democracy and will ensure (Cheif Election Commissioner) Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation," Dipke told news agency ANI hours before the detention.
'EC Snatched Rights Of Voters'
While addressing a press conference, the CJP alleged that the poll body assisted BJP in the recent assembly polls. The pressure group alleged that voters were being added and deleted strategically to benefit the ruling party, claiming that the democratic rights of the voters were snatched by the authorities.
