Given the parleys Nitish Kumar is taking up, it seems that the Bihar Chief Minister has been tasked with forging a grand alliance against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the 2024 General Elections. The JD(U) chief on Friday said that he has spoken to all the parties and "they are ready".
Kumar also said that my mission is to have all parties sit down and decide what to do for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
"Very soon, most parties will come together. I have spoken to Congress party leaders in detail, and everyone has agreed. We are now doing it (uniting against the BJP) will everyone's agreement. I spoke to the CPI too yesterday... This is my mission, that all parties sit together and decide what to do (for the 2024 look Sabha elections," Kumar said while addressing party workers.
The Bihar Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, and his deputy, Tejashwi Yadav, met Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi amid talks of some opposition parties uniting together to take on the saffron front next year.
The JD(U) chief, Kumar, also met Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal and CPI-M chief Sitaram Yechury and D. Raja off CPI.
Kejriwal lauded the Bihar Chief Minister and said, "Nitish ji has taken a good initiative in gathering all opposition parties under one roof. We are on board with this and like the way it is adding up."
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday evening. He said that this is the beginning and that the discussions will also be held with other parties, like TMC, to bring them together.
Meanwhile, Kharge said that we have decided to unite and work together in the nation's interest.
The opposition parties will meet in April end once again. According to reports, the parties will unite at a place to discuss the 2024 elections, and the meet will also be attended by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge.
