Noida Police on Thursday apprehended a woman for assaulting a minor boy over the presence of a pet dog in a residential society’s lift. The incident occurred at the 12th Avenue of Gaur City 2 Society in Greater Noida West on February 19 at around 5.30 PM.

The CCTV footage of the incident was shared on X. In the video, a woman could be seen entering the residential lift along with her dog. A feared minor boy could be seen pleading to the woman to not bring the dog inside the lift. In response, the woman directed him to get out of the lift.

She could be seen pushing and dragging the kid aggressively out of the lift as she pressed the lift’s button for her desired floor. In the CCTV footage, the kid could be seen crying and shivering in fear after the incident.

The incident came to light after a protest by the residents of the society who demanded strict actions against the woman. According to the Noida Police, the woman was arrested and a case was registered against her after seeing the CCTV footage of the incident. 

“On February 19, a video of a woman dragging a boy out of a lift at the 12th Avenue of Gaur City 2 Society of Greater Noida West has gone viral on social media. The police took cognisance of the video and registered a case. The woman has been detained. Further legal proceedings in the case are underway," New 18 quoted DCP Central Noida Shakti Awasthi said.
