Odisha Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rain in Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts of Odisha on Thursday. Additionally, heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Angul. According to the weather body, heavy rainfall activity will continue at many places till July 28.

The low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal may intensify into a deep pressure area on Thursday or Friday night. It is likely to move towards Jharkhand and northern Chhattisgarh.

Thunderstorms are likely in Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Mayurbhanj, Kendujhar, Balasore and Bhadrak on July 25.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur and Kalahandi on July 26.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at many places in the state on July 27 and 28.

Koraput received the highest rainfall of 60 mm on Tuesday. Chandbali recorded 17 mm and Khurda 7 mm of rain.
