In a shocking incident in Gujarat's Surat city, a 26-year-old man was beaten, forced to apologise, and made to lick the attacker's feet at knifepoint. During the assault, which was recorded in a video, the man can be seen pleading to his assailant.
According to NDTV, the victim, identified as Sudhir Pandey, was from the Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh and worked at a dhaba in Surat. The incident stemmed from a dispute between Pandey and the owner of the Dhaba.
What Is The Viral Video?
The video, which went viral on social media, showed the victim pleading with the assailant, “Bhola Bhai, please forgive me. I will never come to Surat again.” During the entire conflict, ‘Bhola Bhai’ held a knife to his throat and slapped him multiple times. Additionally, he also pulled Pandey’s hair and threatened him.
The victim left the dhaba where he worked on the pretext of meeting a friend in Pune. Since then, his phone had been switched off.
Meanwhile, Pandey’s family became concerned and tried to establish communication with him after his videos went viral on social media. Subsequently, his family approached the Bahari police station and filed a complaint, assuming that something terrible and serious had happened to him. The family has submitted a written complaint demanding his safe return. Pandey is the sole breadwinner of the family.
Based on the complaint, the Madhya Pradesh police started searching for him and later located him in Pune. Pandey had gone to Pune to meet a friend there after the incident occurred. He has been brought back safely to his state.
A thorough investigation into the incident will now be conducted by the police, and further actions will be taken only after recording the statements of the man.
