Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the Rs 5,450 crore Gurugram Metro Rail project on Friday in Rewari, Haryana to enhance urban transport. According to a government release, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several projects involving the rail, tourism, urban transportation, and health sectors, totaling over Rs 9,750 crore.
The foundation stone for a new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has also been laid in Rewari, Haryana today. With a 720-bed hospital complex, a 100-seat medical college, a 60-seat nursing college, and a 30-bed AYUSH block, this 203-acre facility, costing Rs 1,650 crore will provide comprehensive healthcare services.

All You Need To Know About Gurugram Metro Rail Project
- The project will be 28.5 kilometres long overall. Through it, Udyog Vihar Phase-5 and Millennium City Centre will be connected.
- At Moulsari Avenue, which is near Cyber City, the network will merge into the existing Metro network of the Rapid Metro Rail Gurugram.
- Linking the old and new Gurugram is the project's main goal.
- It will be connecting: HUDA City Centre - Sector 45 - Cyber Park - Sector 47 - Subhash Chowk - Sector 48 - Sector 72A - Hero Honda Chowk - Udyog Vihar Phase 6 - Sector 10 - Sector 37 - Basai Village - Sector 9 - Sector 7 - Sector 4 - Sector 5 - Ashok Vihar - Sector 3 - Bajghera Road - Palam Vihar Extension - Palam Vihar - Sectors 23A and 22 - Udyog Vihar Phases 4 and 5, as well as Cyber City.
- The project will include a 1.85-kilometre spur on the Dwarka Expressway.
- The Gurugram Metro Rail project will most likely include the development of 27 elevated projects.
- The project is expected to be completed within four years.
- The Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) will carry out the project. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) built the existing Gurugram metro.
