In a bid to make the journey smoother between Puri, Delhi, and Bhubaneswar, the North Central division of the Indian Railways has announced the operation of a special train number 08403/08404. According to Jagran.com, citing the Chief Public Relations Officer, North Central Railway, Prayagraj, Shashikant Tripathi, the train will run from Monday, December 15, and from Delhi on Tuesday, December 16. 

There will be a total of 18 coaches, which include SLRD, General, Sleeper, AC-III, and AC-II coaches. 

The train will have major stoppages at the following stations: 

- Khurda Road

- Bhubaneswar

- Cuttack

- Balasore

- Hijli

- Adra

- Gaya

- Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay

- Prayagraj

- Govindpuri

- Tundla

- Aligarh

Puri-Delhi-Bhubaneswar Railway: Timings

The special train 08403 will reach Delhi at 08:30 pm on Tuesday, December 16. Meanwhile, train number 08404 will leave Delhi at 08:00 pm the same night and will reach Bhubaneswar at 06:30 am on Thursday, December 18. By operating this special train, the Railways will provide great relief to the passengers during festivals and rush hours.

NER Installs 980 Fog Safe Devices To Boost Safety

In a separate development, the North East Railways has installed over 980 Fog Safe Devices to ensure safe train operations during foggy conditions. A total of 315 devices have been provided in the Lucknow division, 250 in the Izzatnagar division, and 415 in the Varanasi division. Additionally, luminous strips have been installed on signal posts, and the barriers of level crossings, and line marking has been carried out on signal sighting boards.

The Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Eastern Railway announced that all passenger and goods trains are now equipped with GPS-based Fog Safe Devices. He emphasised that the railway's primary focus is safe and secure travel, and efforts to enhance this remain ongoing.

With the installation of Fog Safe Devices, the maximum permissible speed of trains has increased to 75 km per hour. The confidence of loco pilots has increased as they receive information about upcoming signals through the device. Another significant benefit is that the need to deploy fog signalmen to place detonators on the tracks has been eliminated.
