After an extensive inspection of the premises, authorities confirmed that no explosives or suspicious objects were found and declared the threat to be false.

Bomb threat, Dawood & More
According to Mumbai Police, the Navi Mumbai Police Control Room received a call at around 12:13 am claiming that a bomb had been planted at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. The caller allegedly said, “Dawood has planted a bomb in the Taj Hotel.” The information was immediately passed on to the Mumbai Police.
Following the alert, security teams from the Colaba Police Station, Mumbai Crime Branch, and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) rushed to the hotel and began a detailed search operation.
Extensive security checks conducted
The police teams carried out a comprehensive inspection of several areas of the hotel, including the main lobby, swimming pool, banquet hall, restaurants, parking area, outer premises, and other sensitive locations.
After completing the security sweep, officials confirmed that no suspicious items or explosive materials were found inside or around the hotel premises.
Investigation underway to trace caller
A technical investigation revealed that the threatening call originated from the Turbhe area of Navi Mumbai. Police have started efforts to trace the caller using the mobile number involved and identify the person responsible.
Officers are coordinating with the Turbhe police to locate and arrest the suspect.
Taj Hotel’s connection to the 26/11 attacks
The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai’s Colaba area was one of the main targets during the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in 2008, in which 166 people were killed and several others injured.
The Taj Hotel threat comes a day after a similar hoax bomb threat triggered a security alert at Delhi’s Red Fort. The threat call was received by the Mumbai Police control room and was subsequently relayed to the Delhi Police. Following the alert, the North District Police carried out a thorough security check of the historic monument, but the threat was also found to be a hoax.
