In a major crackdown on terrorism, the Delhi Police Special Cell busted two separated model and arrested six suspected terrorists from Delhi and Punjab. According to investigating agencies, all six accused are allegedly linked to a module operated by Pakistani gangster and alleged ISI agent Shahzad Bhatti. 

The accused were allegedly operating through two distinct modules,  one linked to terrorist activities (terror module) and the other involved in the smuggling of illegal weapons (arms trafficking module). 

Several pistols and petrol bombs were recovered from the arrested suspects. Initial investigations revealed that the module members were allegedly conspiring to carry out criminal and terrorist activities across various states.

Delhi Police Probing The Wider Network

The Special Cell is now interrogating the accused to gather information about the network, its funding, the arms supply chain, and any larger conspiracy behind the operation.

Investigators are also trying to identify others associated with the module and its possible targets. Police said the investigation is ongoing, and further arrests are likely as the probe progresses.

Earlier on July 2, the Delhi Police Special Cell busted a terrorist and arms smuggling network backed by the ISI, Pakistan's intelligence agency. The special team arrested four individuals from the national capital and Punjab for plotting to attack the crowded sites at the behest of a Pakistani handler.  

The authority also recovered two foreign-made pistols, nine rounds of ammunition, and five mobile phones from the arrested terrorists.
