US Election Results: After securing a historic win in the US Presidential elections, Donald Trump heaped praise on his running mate JD Vance and his Indian-American wife Usha Chilukuri Vance. Following Trump’s victory, residents of Andhra Pradesh's Vadluru, the ancestral village of Usha Vance, took to the streets in joyous celebration.
As Usha Vance is set to become the first Indian-American Second Lady of the United States after her husband JD Vance assumes office, the villagers in Vadluru celebrate by bursting crackers.
Usha, a practising Hindu with deep roots in both her faith and heritage, was raised in suburban San Diego. Her academic journey took her to some of the world’s most prestigious institutions, including Yale and Cambridge Universities, where she broadened her global perspective.
Despite her international experiences, Usha's heart remains firmly tied to her ancestral village of Vadluru, a place where her family has deep connections, both cultural and historical. Residents of Vadluru hold high hopes that Usha’s influence, education, and vision will be a catalyst for growth and progress, bridging growth and progress to their land.
Usha Vance’s great-grandfather, originally from Vadluru, set the course for the family's journey away from their hometown. Her father, Chilukuri Radhakrishnan, a distinguished PhD holder, was raised in Chennai before pursuing further studies in the United States, where he forged a path in academia and professional success.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu also praised US Vice President elect-JD Vance's victory in the presidential election. Naidu emphasised that the victory would elevate Usha Chilukuri Vance, a woman of Telugu heritage, to the esteemed position of Second Lady of the United States, marking a milestone for the Indian-American community and for the state of Andhra Pradesh.
I would also like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Mr. @JDVance, on becoming the US Vice President-elect. His victory marks a historic moment, as Mrs. Usha Vance, who has roots in Andhra Pradesh, will become the first woman of Telugu heritage to serve as the Second Lady…
