Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Update: The Indian Railways has announced a major update on the Vande Bharat sleeper trains, stating that the ticketing system for these will be completely transparent. The move aims to ensure equal access for all passengers, with no special privileges, reinforcing the focus on making these trains more accessible to the common man.
According to NDTV, the trains will be exclusively for the common man, and there will be no VIP culture. The absence of VIP culture in Vande Bharat sleeper trains means that there will be no quota for officers or ministers.
As per the report, there will be no pass system for senior citizens on these trains. Only confirmed tickets will be available on these trains. RAC seats will not be an option.

The Vande Bharat sleeper trains will also feature high-quality bedrolls, including blanket covers. The dress code for staff will also be determined according to Indian traditions.The food served on these trains will also feature indigenous flavours. The Railways says the new Vande Bharat trains will be completely ingrained in Indian culture.
India’s first Vande Bharat Sleeper train, Howrah-Guwahati (Kamakhya), is set to be rolled out next week, as part of Indian Railways’ modernisation programme.
Howrah-Kamakhya Vande Bharat: Key Details
- The train will run through 13 stations including Bandel, Azimganj, Malda Town, New Jalpaiguri and New Cooch Behar.
- The train running from Howrah towards Guwahati will operate as train number 27575, while the return service will run as 27576.
- The train will operate six days a week.
- The train from Howrah to Kamakhya will operate on all days except Thursday, while the train running from Kamakhya to Howrah will run on all days except Wednesday.
- The Howrah-Kamakhya Vande Bharat will depart from Howrah at 6:20 pm and arrive at Kamakhya at 8:20 am the next day.
- In the return journey, the train will leave Kamakhya at 6:15 pm and reach Howrah at 8:15 am the following day. The total journey time on the route will be around 14 hours.
- The train will have a 16-coach configuration, comprising 11 AC three-tier coaches, four AC two-tier coaches and one AC first-class coach.
- Two rakes will be deployed to operate services on the Howrah-Kamakhya route.
- The Vande Bharat Sleeper train will offer three classes to passengers: AC three-tier, AC two-tier and AC first class.
