Maharashtra News: School bus services will be temporarily suspended for two days in Pune And Across Maharashtra, including November 19, to accommodate transportation needs related to the upcoming state elections. This action is part of the preparations for polling day on November 20, which has been declared a state holiday. Regional transport offices (RTO) have requisitioned both tourist and school buses to assist with election activities.

The School Bus Owners Association of Maharashtra (SBOA) has confirmed that no buses will operate on November 19 or 20. They stated that this suspension is essential to provide the necessary vehicles for election duties, ensuring that the polling process runs smoothly.

In a statement, the SBOA urged parents and students to arrange alternative transportation for November 19, as school buses will not be available. The association stated the importance of public cooperation, mentioning that these actions are crucial for supporting the election process.

With schools closed on November 20 for polling, the main impact of the bus service suspension will be felt on November 19. Parents will need to make arrangements for their children to reach school activities, if required, before election day.

In separate news, Maharashtra has declared a public holiday on November 20 for the state assembly elections, affecting all government and semi-government offices, corporations, banks and related organizations. Banks will be closed for in-person services, though online banking and ATMs will remain operational.

Additionally, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has mandated paid leave for employees in Mumbai to encourage voter turnout, with no salary deductions for this leave. Strict action will be taken against employers who do not comply. The voting for the 288-seat Maharashtra Assembly will be held on November 20, with results announced on November 23.
