Mumbai Traffic Advisory: The streets of South Mumbai will come alive today as the victorious Indian cricket team will hold a victory parade at Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium after their Win in the T20 World Cup.

Team captain Rohit Sharma expressed his excitement on the social media platform 'X', stating, "We want to enjoy this special moment with all of you. So let's celebrate this win with a victory parade at Marine Drive and Wankhede on July 4 from 5 pm onwards. It's coming home."

In preparation for the celebratory event, the Mumbai Police have issued a traffic advisory to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles and the safety of both the participants and the spectators.

Mumbai Road Diversions For Team India's Victory Parade

The Mumbai Coastal Road will remain open for traffic, but the areas surrounding the parade route will be subject to diversions.

Mumbai Northbound Traffic: The northbound traffic on NS Road from NCPA to the Meghdoot Bridge (also known as the Princess Street Bridge) will be prohibited for all vehicles except emergency services.

Alternative Routes: Commuters are advised to use alternate routes, such as Ramnath Poddar Chowk (Godrej Junction) - Maharshi Karve Road - Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate Junction) - Marine Lines - Charni Road - Pandit Paluskar Chowk (Opera House) or the route via Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Junction, Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil and the CTO Junction.

Mumbai Southbound traffic on NS Road: Theroutese will be closed from the Meghdoot Bridge to the NCPA/Hutatma Rajguru Chowk (Mantralaya Junction).

Alternative Routes: Motorists can opt for alternative routes like the Kemps Corner Bridge via Nana Chowk, or the route from RTI Junction, left turn to NS Patkar Marg - Pandit Paluskar Chowk - left turn to SVP Road, right turn at Pandit Paluskar Chowk and proceed via Maharshi Karve Road.

Mumbai Roads Closed Today For Team India's Victory Celebration

Roads Closed: The northbound stretch of Veer Nariman Road, from Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate Junction) to Kilachand Chowk (Sunder Mahal Junction), will also be closed for all vehicles.

Alternative Routes: Commuters can proceed via Maharshi Karve Road to Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate Junction), then to Marine Lines-Charni Road and onwards to Pandit Paluskar Chowk (Opera House Junction).

Roads Closed: The northbound Dinshaw Vacha Road from WIAA Chowk to Ratanlal Babunachwok (Marine Plaza Junction) and the northbound Madam Cama Road from Hutatma Rajguru Chowk (Mantralaya Junction) to Venutai Chavan Chowk (Air India Junction) will be closed.

Alternative Routes: Motorists are advised to take the alternative route via Maharshi Karve Road, Ramnath Poddar Chowk (Godrej Junction), Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk (Churchgate Junction), Marine Lines, Charni Road, and Pandit Paluskar Chowk (Opera House Junction).

Roads Closed: The northbound stretch of Barrister Rajni Patel Marg from Sakhar Bhavan Junction to NS Road, as well as the northbound Vinay K Shah Marg from Jamanalal Bajaj Marg to Murali Deora Chowk-NS Road, will also be closed for all types of vehicles.

Alternative Routes: Commuters can take the route from Hotel Trident's exit gate to Sakhar Bhavan Junction, then proceed to Barrister Rajni Patel Marg and Usha Mehta Chowk-Free Press Circle or use Ramnath Goenka Marg to Sakhar Bhavan Junction and then turn right to Barrister Rajni Patel Marg and continue to Free Press Circle.

How To attend Team India's Victory Parade In Mumbai

Mumbai Police DCP Zone 1, Pravin Munde, has provided guidelines for those wishing to attend the celebratory events. He advises spectators to reach the promenade side of Marine Drive before 4:30 pm to witness the victory parade, which will take place between 5 pm and 7 pm. For the victory lap at Wankhede Stadium at 7 pm, he requests attendees to be seated in the stadium before 6 pm.

The police have urged the public to use public transport to reach the venues, in order to avoid traffic congestion.
