Bageshwar Dham Sarkar: Dhirendra Krishna Shastri's Real Name And Background 

The real name of Dhirendra Krishna Shastri is Dhirendra Krishna Garg. Shastri was born on July 4th, 1996 in the village of Gada in the district of Chhatarpur. He was raised in a Hindu Saryupareen Brahmin family where his father serves as a priest. Dhirendra Shastri grew up in a kutcha hut with his family and had to face a lot of poverty. He is the disciple of Rambhadracharya. In addition to his spiritual prowess, Shastri is renowned for his proclamations of the Shiva Purana and the Ramcharitmanas.

Bageshwar Dham Sarkar: Dhirendra Krishna Shastri’s Religious Life And Controversies

- Every Tuesday and Saturday, Dhirendra Shastri hosts a divya darbar at this dham where it is said that he uses his supernatural abilities which he inherited from Lord Hanuman to cure all human miseries, including economic, social, and physical ones.  

- When Indian rationalist Shyam Manav confronted Shastri and questioned his spiritual abilities, Shastri came into the spotlight. Dhirendra Shastri was charged by Manav with encouraging blind faith. 

- In accordance with the anti-superstition law, the Nagpur Police received a complaint regarding Shastri from the All India Superstition Eradication Committee (Akhil Bhartiya Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti). Shyam Manav, the committee's chairman, claimed that witchcraft is being pushed under the guises of "Divya Darbar" and "Pret Darbar," and that Dhirendra Shastri is robbing, defrauding, and exploiting common people in the name of religion. The Anti-Superstition and Black Magic Act (2013) investigation by the police revealed no probable cause for prosecution. 

- During a “Ghar Wapsi” programme in 2021, Shastri is credited with converting 300 Christians back to Hinduism. Following the threats on Shastri's life, the government of Madhya Pradesh stepped up Shastri’s security on January 25, 2023.

- Shastri is also committed to social welfare activities. In his Dham, Shastri established the Annapurna Kitchen, a place where free food contributions are made for his devotees. Additionally, he hosts an annual event to facilitate the marriage of needy and underprivileged girls. To advance historical Vedic studies and Sanskrit, he is constructing a Vedic gurukul.
